Water only ppm

I’m new to growing, I’ve watched many hours of videos and bought your book. I get the ppm numbers on the days I add nutes. My question is on the water only days, what should my ppm be in the water I use on water only days? I just got a distiller and used distilled water when I feed them. I plan on adding in cal mag with every watering. I’m thinking the ppm on water only days should be around 200.

It depends on what your water source is. Some people are using tap water or well water with 200 to 400 PPM while others are using filtered water, distilled water, or reverse osmosis water which comes in at a lower PPM. Always check the PPM of the runoff even on watering days so you can get an idea of how many nutrients are in the medium. Hope this helps!

Thank you for your response. I’m using distilled water and it has 4 ppms after being distilled. I add 1 ml of cal mag per gallon and I will always water til runoff. I’m using happy frog potting mix with 1/3 peralite mixed in. Growing autos, in the second week. I’ll be using FF Trio.

I wanted to know what the starting water ppms should be? All im adding is cal mag, might add in a tsp of molasses per gallon on watering days. Feeding days I’ll be using the trio at lower doses. Nothing over 1/2 strength.

@Mr. Grow It Just watered with distilled water, 1 ml of cal mag and 1 tsp of molasses per gallon. I watered til runoff and the runoff was at 1900 ppm and 5.8 ph. I’m in week 2 of my autoflower grow. My distilled water only had 4 ppm in it to start with. The water going in had 178 ppm and 5.8 ph. I dumped the runoff so they can start drying out for next time. They’re looking good and happy. The 1900 ppm runoff seems high to me, but the plants look healthy. Is that a high runoff, or is it just flushing stuff out of the soil?

@JBz Happy Frog has nutrients in it so that's why you're seeing 1900 PPM. Plant should take it just fine with it's small root zone. I'd water in at 6.5-6.8 pH and the medium pH should drift up over time.
