What tools do you guys use to check for them? My 3$ clip phone magnifier won’t do the trick.
The resolution is good and it has a good magnifying range but it requires really manhandling the buds and I don’t want to. It’s awesome for stationary objects where you can go really close but not for buds.
Just ordered this one with a stand and wifi and let’s C how this works.

Guys this new microscope is really really worth it, for the 20$ tag I’m astounded.
No wires, just a connection with any device to its hotspot and switch to the app, it’s a little OP with the up to 1000x but the image quality is really clear
This is using almost the lowest zoom setting

Some smartphones have such good cameras on them nowadays that you can take a pic and then zoom into the pic to see the color of the trichomes. I also sometimes snip off a piece of the bud and use a carson microscope on a table for a steady view.
search Jewelers Eye Loupe Magnifier there pretty cheap & come in different magnifications you can also trim a fan leaf & lay it on a table top to be a little more stable
