It's a fungus or mold. It happens sometimes when the media is too wet or the seed is buried too deep. It may survive if you clip the cotyledons off because they are what it's feeding off. It will grow very slow at first if you do this but it will survive. If you have extra seeds I'd pop one and replace it honestly. It will take 2 weeks to recover probably.
