First off I’d like to say a massive thanks to Mr.Grow it. Your youtube videos and website have been an absolute gem when it comes to intro growing. I’ve also purchased your book and I feel like I am well on my way to growing great flowers, thank you very much for your time and dedication
The second part of my post relates to my grow light selection. As described in your LED grow light articles it can be very overwhelming when it comes to choosing a light, however I believe I am narrowing it down and have been weighing all options through spreadsheets etc.
i am going to be growing in a 3x3’ Gorilla Grow Tent “Shorty” series using the extensions to get the total Height to 5’8. I will be planting in 5 gallon pots and growing either 2 or 3 plants per cycle (3 seems doable but less manageable in a 3x3)
after all my research and keeping my budget to no more than $600 CAD total I believe I’m leaning towards the Mars hydro FC3000:
from all accounts and the specs etc. It seems like a fairly well rounded full spectrum light with good coverage for a 3x3. My only concern is it being relatively new there is not much for reviews on it.
I was wondering if I could get your thoughts on this light and if you had any other recommendations around the same price?
I am generally a very technical, capable person when it comes to electronics etc however Im feeling apprehensive about buying one of the LED kits from an HLG etc. As I would prefer the total package plug and play just to make things a little smoother
thank you again for your great work and any input
edit* sorry I didn’t even see you had reviewed this light on your other channel lol.
Thanks for your kind words! I'm glad my content has helped you. I think the Mars Hydro FC3000 would do well in a 3x3 grow tent. Did you see the unboxing & PAR test video I did on it? I'd run it at 18" in flowering, full power.
It's a great priced fixture for that size grow space. Plus you can use coupon code MRGROWIT for a % off 😉
Another fixture I like for a 3x3 that is priced around that fixture is the FGI Square 3 LED Grow Light.
I totally get what you mean by just wanting plug-and-play. Both of those fixtures are that. Those two fixtures are also the more "budget friendly" ones for that size coverage area. There are higher-end LED grow lights but they come with a higher price tag.
