About to start home grow in a tent should I start with autoflowers or regular feminized seeds for a beginner? never hear of any of my grow friends ever mention Autoflower
I personally went with photoperiod for my first grow but the main reason was because I’m my lack of space. I had to do some serious training. Either way you go just do a lot of research, ph, ppm, and do t overwater are the three most important I believe. I’d start off with using soil such as fox farm ocean forest and use the fox farm trio + cal mag to keep it simple. Feed half the recommended or less and do t start feeding until about a month. Research reasearch YouTube and more research!!
You don't have to worry about light schedules, it uses half the nutrients and you don't need to top them.
Once you have your Auto game dialed in you can switch to Photo Periods if you want to have more control over the size of your plant and when it flowers. You can also clone Photo Periods but you cannot do that with Autos ( <== He's new, I'm not going to get into the mystical arts of topping and cloning Autos 🤐)
Well im a new grower on 3rd grow,if you buy autos you won't have to change the light cycle to 12 12 I keep mine on 18/6 autos are more sensitive when it comes to trimming and its not recommended to top autos but they are ready alot sooner than photos three months give or take from start to finish, hopefully you have bought mr grow it book for beginners it answers most of the questions you will have for either lady you are going to grow Amazon has his book and I definitely recommend it her is a picture of my northern lights big bud auto and I believe you will get more yield from photo I have 1 g13 photo in my tent with my autos im about to switch to 12/12 light cycle but im still new so im learning as I go
@dgreen2178 I keep kicking myself thinking about how good my first few harvests could have been if I had only had a PH pen. Turned out I was using water with a PH of 9+ yikes! Once I figured that out it was like the clouds parted and the sun came out with a chorus of angels.
@Cap Stone his book told me so lolhe said your going to need this so I went and bought more than one definitely don't go cheap and keep calibration in check it makes life so much easier but im still new but im dialing it in got my first g13 photo im fixing to flip to flower in a couple of weeks when my autos are done,I've had less problems with strawberry fields in the ph than I had in ffof but im trying new things so we shall
IMO regular feminized seeds instead of autoflowers for beginners. You have more control with them so they are "more forgiving"

I would go with the Auto flower for a first grow.
