Hey there everyone, I'm here to ask a important question because I am not very knowledgeable on indoor growing at all in fact I have never grown indoors. I wanted to know what was the best budget light or the whole setup if possible. I don't have much money at all and would like to keep it at 200-300 if possible for the whole setup, for those just giving me light options I would request that it's nothing over 100 less then that preferably if possible. I know I'm asking a lot from you all but it would be greatly appreciated if I can get some feedback🙏 I only grow outdoors so I don't know the light requirements and such which is why I'm here so I don't buy a useless light that cant even sprout a plant. Thank you all for your time!

I've looked.. there really isn't to many things you can skimp out on. Plan on dropping around $700 for a basic plain jane build @allseednoclone
I couldnt agree with SinnerSpread more, what he's telling you is fact. I too started growing with budget in mind, and bought myself a "complete grow kit" for about $499. However, I quickly realized that while its physically possible to keep costs low, the results will leave you wanting. The only thing I still use from that lame ass kit is the 4x4 tent, Which I have to cover with blackout drapes because of the leaks.....anyway I've since come to my senses and spent the money in order to get the results I want....you definitely get what you pay for.... And for all you veterans out there that might be reading this saying "I could grow with less than $300 no problem", you probably could, but this man is admittedly not a veteran, and you all are not beginners. All $300-$500 is going to do is get you involved enough to realize you need to spend more!!
If I could do it all over again from the beginning I would wait, been a little more patient, until I had a solid vision of what I wanted out of growing. Then purchase equipment accordingly. I would have saved myself $500-$1000 right off the bat.
I'm not saying that all, "all in one kits", are worthless, in fact I've seen some nice ones over at Green Sunshine that have quality equipment, but they're priced accordingly
Best case scenario: Make your own grow space out of maybe cardboard and reflective mylar sheets (think Vivosun sells a 5x25' roll for about $25), buy a couple oscillating fans, and take the money you saved on a tent and buy the Hlg-100-rspec for $150 (very good light for the cost).
@allseednoclone lol that's a loaded question man.. Fact of the matter is that in the cannabis industry you get what you pay for.. it may last it may not, but if it's not penetrating the canopy why would it matter.
Growing indoors isn't cheap bro, I've tried the cheap way before and what will end up happening is that you will spend roughly $350 for your setup, and then spend another $200 couple wks/months later, then another $300 a few months after that..just nickel and diming you.
My advice is if your good at growing outdoors, stick with that, cuz your yield and overall plant health will suffer using low quality gear in your grow space.
Lower than $100 is non-existent, unless you want to waste your money. Maybe consider purchasing a Mars Hydro Ts1000 for $140? Just be aware that most budget lights will not penetrate the canopy, and they tend to run hot.
As for an entire set up, I haven't seen one for under $350. I personally wouldn't go the full set up package route, but that's just my preference.
Thanks for the response however I'm mainly looking for more budget lights. A lot of the lights in that article where upwards of $1000 average being around $400-$600, I'm looking for a light that's $100 or less if possible. Thank you once again!
I'm mainly looking for a 2x2x4 but if you have another suggestion I'll be glad to check it out. Thanks!
What area are you looking to cover? Different lights are made for different coverage areas so if you can tell us that info we will be able to give you specific suggestions.
