Things are looking pretty good, I let one plant start fading a little too soon. Took your advice and did one final feed, except for some yellow leaves they look great, the buds are healthy, frosty and hard.
My trics are about 50% clear, 49% cloudy and 1% amber. I'm expecting to harvest 11/15-11/22
Which brings to another trichome question:
Do you wait for 20% or so Amber for a taste and effect thing or are you letting some go Amber to assure that your late bloomers have at least all gone milky?
If you've moved from clear to all milky, can you harvest even if you're only showing minimal amber? Or is that 20% Amber truly critical to a balanced effect?
Thank you to all who have helped me through my first grow.
I could not have made it this far without you.
I don't have that many harvests in yet but in the last several if the cultivar is Indica leaning, I wait until I see some Amber (10%) -ish, if the cultivar is Sativa leaning in genealogy, I wait until I don't see any clear and feel good about chopping then-
I have been happy with those very general guides. As I get better with nutrient delivery and really dial in light management, I might be better able to control how fast and how even the trichomes develop, but at this point I have not been able to manage that with any certainty. Happy to maintain pH thru harvest is my most recent win. Moving on from there-
+1 for Kudos for Chris and the site- great place to learn and share, warts and all. Gardening is one area that if you don't learn from your mistakes, it's going to be difficult to learn at all- the Forum is a great online community greenhouse we can all have our plants in.
And be better Gardeners for it.
It's subjective. Some are going to want to see a certain percentage of amber while others will just look for most to be cloudy. So yes you can certainly harvest with minimal amber.
