So I did a bad unintended thing followed by a very stupid decision or execution or both.
Yesterday on the 2nd round of LST went a little hard on the main stem of my blue dream and it snapped almost 75%.
Started sweating a little bit, left the branch supported and went to grab duck tap, didn’t let any debris in and no gap when reattaching it.
Was expecting to see some signs of branch dying or so but it looked fine so this took me to take some actions before consulting with anyone and I think I might messed up with a topping.
My chain of thoughts were, at least 2weeks for the branch to recover if it recovers, need to control the canopy, need to top.
Even worst was my execution, after checking the photos, realized that it was the wrong node.
Soaking all this learning and the best way to not repeat mistakes it’s to lear from them.
Will she survive.?
Think it might have indeed survived 🤞🏻😎
retapped once again just for the peace of mind on the next couples of weeks.
Only time will tell if that branch will make it. I've got my fingers crossed for ya :)
Give her some time, if you topped while fresh from repairing the snap it does add extra stress. You'll know in about a week if shes gonna make it. You'll be surprised how resilient these plants can be. Add a foliar every couple days while healing.
