I recently purchased my first clone from a dispensary and realized the main stem seemed to be cut before purchasing. Will this effect the overall growth of my plant? or will a side node take over as the main stem? I have had the plant about a week now and it has seem to been growing good and healthy so far.

You're good, no worries. That was probably done on purpose when they where taking the clones.
When you take a new clone clipping you do not want a lot of leaf on it. That is so the new clone will concentrate on growing roots first instead of trying to keep a bunch of leaves alive. Once the roots are established then the new leaves can grow.
Even if they did break a branch off by accident, she is young enough to recover and not miss a beat.
