i AM STARTING A NEW MEDIA SOIL WITH SO FAR, ORGANIC MATERIALS. gUESTION IS IS GARDEN LIME SPECIFICALLY FOR RAISING ph OR CAN IT BE USE AS A ADDITIVE TO A FEEDING MIX (HOPE THATS NOT TO CRAZY) OR IS IT A PREFERRED ADDITIUVE TRO THE TOP SOIL? iT HAS SOME VERY GOOD ELEMENTS FOR PLANT SUPPORT SO WHY IS IT JUST USED MOPSTLY FOR SOIL PH UP? wHAT CAN BE ITS USAGE OTHER THEN PH? I AM OPEN TO DISCUSSION THANKS.

From Dr. Bruce Bugbee: "You add dolomitic lime just once when the media is mixed. The release rate is gradual, usually 7 to 21 days. Long term pH control depends on the bicarbonate in your tap water. and the ammonium/nitrate ratio in your fertilizer."
Thanks for the reply Mr.Grow ItBuy in a general sense barring going over 7 PH in an RO water with A very low PH can it be used as a supplement as it has many other nuts in it or is it best to use only for low PH in your soil fgor instance and if used in the water blended in with other nutrients or (is prefffered by itself) can you skip other nutients that have the same makeup. Hope not to confuse you as I am also confused.
The pH can drift up very easily using garden lime so be careful. It can drift up over 7.0 which will negatively impact some nutrients from being uptaken.
