Ok, here goes. First off I love the MrGrowIt videos on youtube. Its great stuff, thank you for the helpful vids!
Now I am a complete noob as far as growing goes, and i live in Michigan. I bought a 2x4x6'6" gorilla grow tent, I have a 4 inch acinfinity inline fan with duct work and a carbon filter, and a ChiLED Growcraft x3 330watt light, gonna have an oscillating fan or 2 in there to move the air around, and im planning on growing 2 autos in 5 gallon smart pots at a time. The room that I am putting the grow into has no ductwork to provide heat or ac, so it stays a bit warmer in the summer and cooler in the winter compared to the rest of my house. The temp should be easy enough to control by either keeping the door open to allow air from the rest of the house to come in, or buying a heater or air conditioner.
With all that being said I am mostly concerned with the humidty levels. The RH in the room seems to stay around 40-45 with no grow set up in it (I have been monitoring it for the last few days). So in all your experiences do you think i will have a tough time keeping the humidity under control? I do have a smallish humidifier I can use if need be... Thanks for reading and for any advice you can provide!
Sounds like you have an amazing setup! You definitely did your research there.
40-45% RH will work; The plant will still grow under that humidity. One thing to keep in mind is that plants transpire. This means they release water vapor into the air which will increase the humidity. So you'll notice the humidity will increase - especially after watering the plant. You probably won't notice it when the plant is a seedling but as the plant becomes bigger you'll notice it more and more.
PRO TIP: Water your plants when the lights come on. If you want before the lights turn off, you'll see a big humidity spike during lights off which can be hard to control sometimes.
