Hi all, I‘ve read that I need to water my plants every day with nutrients when growing in coco but how often is it recommended to give them just water?
Watering plants in coco every day is just general guidance. The size of the plant and environment conditions will be contributing factors as well. For example, if you have a seedling in a 5-gal grow pot, it's not going to need water as often as a plant that is in flowering in a 5-gallon grow pot.
Some growers use soil moisture meters to determine when to water. Just make sure you calibrate it before using it. Other growers will let the top inch of the medium dry out before watering. Then there are growers who simply lift the grow pot to feel the weight and then water when it feels light. I just typed that all up and then re-read your question... You may actually be referring to when to give water instead of nutrients. You can get an understanding of when the plant needs nutrients by checking the PPM of the runoff.
I would not feed or water every day only when the top 1” is dry or your pot is light most people do water feed water only when the pot is dry and light
