Growing Dense Buds

I’m fairly new to growing & just had my 3rd harvest. All of them have had the same airy buds. Everything was northern lights. I’m growing under a 600w light in a 30” x 32” x 64” space. I’m using general hydroponics nutrients in soil. The strain was northern lights. The buds at the very top were a little denser but not much. Everything else was very airy.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. @Mr. Grow It

Unfortunately, you made the same mistake I did as well as I'm sure lots of other peeps. The first light I bought was from amazon and It said "1000" watts, the bad part is that what they say is 1000 isn't exactly that. If you do alittle research you will see the marketing ploys that companies use to deceive people like yourself and I. Your light plays a MAJOR part in the density of yer buds. I was fortunate enough to purchase a high end light and I can tell you the difference is night and day. I hope this helps, good growing!

Which 600w grow light are you using? What's your feeding regime? What are your drying conditions and how do you cure?

@AllDay Well I'm not the type to tell people what to do with their gardens, but I can speak about my experience and tell you what I try to do. PAR = Photosynthetically Active Radiation

PPFD is a measurement of PAR. It's the amount of PAR at a particular spot - sometimes called a "spot check".

Ideal PPFD for cannabis:

200-400 PPFD for seedlings 400-600 PPFD for plants in Veg 600-900 PPFD for plants in flowering Those are general ranges for plants being grown without supplementing CO2. If you supplement CO2, you can go higher.

PPF is also a measurement of PAR. PPF is total light output of fixture.

Ideal PPF for different grow spaces: ~1500+ umol/s per 5’x5’ area

~1100-1500 umol/s per 4’x4’ area

~600-850 umol/s per 3’x3’ area

~275-375 umol/s per 2’x2’ area

@AllDay from all the youtubers i have watched and mr grow it too, invest in a good decent light at least. Check out @Mr. Grow It Youtube channel. He has a video for decent lights for different spaces starting 2by2 to 4by4. Im planning on getting HLG 260w for a 3 by 3 in the near future. youtube has good growing series just follow one and buy the light you like.
