Are you planning to do any low stress training also or only pruning? If just pruning, ideally you want airflow through the canopy so any large leaves that are preventing airflow can be removed. But that's just one way to go about it.

I would get rid of those big leaves. Are you growing indoor or outdoor? If indoor then try moving your light higher to see if that would help the stacking so close.
