Hello all again.
I’ve had my two beans sprout in 5 gallon fabric pots of live soil. I’ve just been giving them 3-4 caps of water from the lid of a 1L water bottle, about every 12 hrs or so around the seedlings area. I haven’t watered the outside of the live soil as yet, but it is now covered by some sugar mulch.
Im growing in a 2x2 with a spider farmer SF 1000 set at 30 inches and its set at 30 on the dimmer.
When should I be increasing the water to the rest of the pot so the live soil is kept moist enough?
That's a difficult question to answer because there are so many variables. Your environment and size of the plant are a few things that impact how quickly the medium dries out. Often times I'm ensuring the entire medium is moist throughout the entire grow. This can be a bit challenging when the plant is small in a big container though because you're much more prone to overwatering.
In my opinion you should continue to water by saturating the area of the seedling only until it reaches its 3rd set of serrated leaves and then start drenching with 250ml water as needed. Just a system I use but not THE system Skål 🌱🪴🤙🏻
