hey, thanks for readin‘ and I hope your chillin’.
background: I am currently vegging around a dozen clones in fox farm soil. First time with clones. Stems seem rather weak. These clones are 6 weeks old, I transplanted them to 3 gallons about 2-3 weeks ago. It took then almost 3 weeks to fully root.
problem: My PPMs in my tap water are around 80-100. Based on what I have read… that is low… real low. When I add cal/mag… it increases the PPMs to about 300-350. I have been using cal/mag more during this grow because it has been increasing my PPMs.
Question: Do you think I should use cal/mag every watering? Should I be concerned about mag or calcium toxicity? One of the plants seems a little dark green with purple stems… I keep my PH 6.4-6.6. is there another way I should be increasing my PPms? I haven’t been watering to runoff as frequently because of the low PPMs. I don’t want to flush out the microbes.
peace! thanks very much for all feedback!!
Your plants look pretty good. By the looks of the color of the leaves, they probably don't need anymore nutrients right now. I'd transplant into final container and then start feeding nutrients approximately 20 days after. When do you plan to transplant?
I will be using fox/farm nutrient line. I have only been using cal/mag to date. usually… I only feed cal/mag in veg unless there’s a nitrogen deficiency until flower… runoff PPM was 160-200 yesterday after feeding cal/mag. The PPM of water/cal/mag was 350. Woke up today… and I think I over did it a bit on the cal/mag. I see that some plants are dark green… some have some rust spots. will post some pics in a few minutes.
thanks for your reply.
Need more info. What base nutrients will you be using and when do you plan to start feeding them? Do you know the runoff pH and PPM measurements? Can you post a few pics so we can see what you're talking about?
