I need some help. I thought I had the beginning of plant burn so I raised my lights. I came home
from a few days gone and it looks worst and has begun to show in my other plant. I have now changed my diagnosis to under watering. What do you think? The PPM on both plants are over 700 closet to 800. The PH on both plants are just over 7 barely. I’m stepping up my watering. I’m still in the vegetation stage and have not been using nutrients because I transplanted from seedling stage. Any ideas would be great. Thanks.
I had some girls I burned tops just like that over the winter because of a grow schedule error and late freezes. They recovered awesome after cutting the burned tops off.
My fan is in the corner facing the side of the tent. It is a small fan That is not blowing directly on the plant. I didn’t think of the fan. I’ll make some adjustment to that also. i do have a heater but it is not close to the plant . I really don’t think the heater is the issue. It rarely turns on.
my light I believe is the biggest culprit (The fan MAY be contributing a bit because it wasn’t oscillating). It is an LED light. It came in a kit so I am not sure the brand. I had it way to close before I adjusted it. It is now 36” from the canopy compared to where it was (around 20”). I think I just burned it. I’m hoping I still get a decent yield but it is my first grow. I think topping makes sense and waiting for transferring to the flower stage. It will also allow me to wait for the pruning part of the process. Any suggestions are welcome.
I had similar damage on a plant before because my heater was too close. Do you have a heater in your tent? If not, must be light burn. What light are you using and how close was it to the top of the plant? Also, where is your fan placed?
Is all the damage on the fan side?
Just a thought where is your fan was that plant closer to it on that side?
Thanks for the responses. I appreciate the help
I'd give it some time to recover from the burn and the topping before switching. Yes you would cut it just above the next lower node. Highly doubtful that top would recover. Expanding the pic it looks like you two tops there in the center. If so just take the burnt one and let the other grow.
If I top it, basically it is cutting the main stem below the burn? After I posted I rethought my diagnosis. I think it is burn. It was already damaged and I think I am seeing the rest of the damage caused by the light before I raised it.
I was going to force the flowering stage before I saw the burn results. Any opinion on going 12/12 right after topping?
If that is water caused I'd say over watering, but it looks like light burn to me. If you haven't topped the plant I'd top it below that burned top.
