So after thinking about it today Ibwill probably try to not complicate my first grow any more than I have to. I am just going to start out with all autoflower. I would still be interested how many plants can grow in a 2x4
Had 5, now I'm down to 4. With 4 you can't really open them up. 3 comfortably. That's what I have done in my 2x4. Have 7 clones in the other 2x4. Had 8, one died. But they are comfortable. Good luck with your multiple plant decision. Keep that happily growing. These are all photos...
That looks beautiful. I mean seriously. It’s really good to know. I wasn’t sure how much you could crowd them. I have three Zkittlez auto fem seeds I am just going to do those first and see how I do. thanks for the reply.
@Tim Oleson any time. Good luck with your grow. Keep your ladies happy, and they will grow. I call it happily growing. Thank for the kind words. Keep in mind that your pots are different size depending on fabric vs. plastic. When I was using 3gl. fabric, I could only fit 3. Those are in plastic pots, lined with fabric. I think it does the same effect to the roots as a standard fabric pot. That was what I was shooting for. It works, get awesome root ball come to think of it. Alright bud, happily growing...
Yes you can, but when you have to switch the photoperiod plants to a flowering light cycle, you may want to keep the autos on a "veg light cycle" ... 18/6 is the light cycle I like to give autos for their entire life. Like @mwhite9829 says, you can grow autos under a flowering light cycle (most growers do 12/12). However, you may not get as good results since they aren't getting as much light.
@Mr. Grow i know this may not be possible when I get everything up and running but since I am just starting would it work to try and time the planting so that my autos are being harvested when it’s time to switch to a flowering light schedule on my photos? Is that thinking too much? The only problem I foresee is if the auto blocks the light for the younger photos. I only have a 2x4 tent 6 ft tall. I’m wondering if I should just do my autos first and then run my photos. That brings up another question for me. How many plants should I do at a time? I’m running two viparspectra v450 lights. Its not much but it’s mine.
@Tim Oleson You can try that but it's easier said than done. Some finish later than advertised so it could throw things off. I would do 3-4 autos in that tent in 3-gal containers. If doing 5-gal, then just 3 - especially since you have a humidifier in there. That's just what I would do. Unfortunately it's hard to tell you for sure what will be best since different phenos will grow differently - so some phenos could stretch like crazy while others stay squat.
When I had one grow room it wasn't ideal but it was what it was. With two rooms I could choose which ever light cycle I wanted. Auto can grow in either cycle, many different results from different people, but for me in my environment the only difference I seen was taller thinner branches with the plants I ran 12/12. I had a blue dream auto that stretched out and filled a 4x4 area 😂, she was a monster lol.

I do it all the time, call it my in-between crop 😂
