I just wanted to let everyone know that I just finished a book by Linda-Chalker-Scott called "The Informed Gardener " and in her book she says that there have been many scientific studys on the causes of leaf spot and not a single one shows the cause of which is from watering your plants with the lights on. I know alot of people think that if you water during lights on , that the water will bead up on the leaves and act as little magnifying glasses, therefore causing brown spots. This is misinformation that I thought you all might like to know. So dont be afraid of water during lights on.

ok but there is a lot of info missing..like is it talking for outdoors ? indoors ? what kind of climate ? where i live, today its 41C outside i would be crazy to spray them when the sun is up . if you already give (maybe from mistake) higher par on the canopy? and many more. my experience and what i have seen says otherwise . would be very interesting to have some links on the papers. so many questions lol
All she really said was that there have been dozens of studies and papers written about causes i.e. heat stress, nutrient burn, pest and diseases, of leaf spot and the likes, but none of them say foliar spraying in the daylight as a cause. It didnt mention if that was with or without nutrients. If you look into her work, you will see that she does have her own opinion on things, but more importantly is that she will teach you how to weed (No pun intended) out pseudoscience and anecdotal info from true science and facts. Good Growing!
You mean misting the plants with plain water right? Does it say anything about nutrient solution?
Foliar spraying, sorry.
do you mean actually watering or spraying (foliar spraying) ?
