hello fellow growers. im having 2 issues with 2 different plants and need your help identifyng them and hopefully ways to counter them . i will post 2 fotos . any help is greatly appreciated . thank you in advance
this plant was going perfectly ok but lately all the leaves are starting to go pale and yellowing from the inside to the outside of the leaves. just entered 4th week of flower. its an auto growing in soil .
this is a different plant and something i noticed the past 2 days . anyone knows what im dealing with ?
thank you so much all
It looks to me as though you're at the start of a big Thrip proliferation. Nasty, but not a total nightmare yet. Big infestations can lead to a weakened/yellowing plant. However, make sure the pH of the water you use is adjusted to around 6.3-6.5 pH. Alkaline conditions can lock up nutrients like Iron or Mag which can cause yellowing of leaves throughout the plant. I recommend not dosing with "panic" nutes until you've done several waterings with pH adjusted water and wait to notice a change.
With the Thrip thing, in the past I've had success by carefully removing all the largest, infested leaves and then bag them and dispose way away from the grow space. Then use a spray with Spinosad as it's active ingredient. (Monterey Garden Insect Spray concentrate has been a go-to for me).
Apply to any affected plants once a week for several weeks, under leaf surfaces as well if you can. I noticed that you're getting close to a finished plant. Although this is a completely organic spray, I'd probably not use it within 10 days of your predicted harvest date. It's never left a distasteful residue for me. Just be mindful.
Peace!
hi and thanks for the responce. in the first foto the lighting is not ideal . those leaves used to be green and day by day they get more pale and the yellowing starts from the inside part and going to the tip.
I'm having a hard time seeing what you're referring to in that first pic. Magnesium deficiency?
2nd pic- looks like damage from thrips or spider mites. Have you inspected your plants closely for pests?
