How do the plants look? Got a pic so we can see? Often times plants will be fine under 5.8 pH. Many growers will just water in at 6.5-6.8pH and the pH in the medium will slowly drift up over time. All of that info is if you are growing in soil. Coco is a different story.
That is a great question, all I can do is relate my experience. Tap water is 6.1 & 105 ppm, General hydro 3 part nutes drops my feed to 6.8 & I add a couple of mls of Ph down 5 gal pot /promix hp media. My run off was always about 6.2 . One grow I used microriza, mid flower the runoff started to drop. Ran out and bought ph up and started to increase the input ph. The runoff continued to drop and the plant started to show serious deficiencies at a very critical stage. Caused me to harvest earlier than optimum. I concluded that something soured the grow media (and have not used microriza again).
