I don't have a ph meter I don't know where you read that at. I have a hygrometer and as all of them when you do a salt test they are rarely exact. So with that said I know the points my hygrometer is off so I always calculate. Thanks
Seeds I had saved never sprouted. Found a seed bank that gave me my first 3 seeds free (Chocolate Rain x Boss Hogg) and the first seed I germinated and planted broke ground yesterday. The grow box has been running since I first set it up and it hasn't been an issue keeping temp and humidity under control. Oh yeah I bought a hygrometer that has been helpful in keeping the air and temp in line.
Due to my personal situation I had to cut costs the best way I could. I studied for months from different sources. Other than the thermal trigger, exhaust fan, light carbon and timer, this whole build might have cost $50 total including dirt and grow bags. As I said my personal situation doesn't allow for anything extra, so I sacrificed just to build this.
Like the others say, Very creative! But I would be concerned with moisture and fire issues.
What kind of light do you have in there and what is in the white box on the side? How do you plan to handle air flow in and out of the box? Without something like an inline fan it's going to get hot in there.
Honestly, without proper airflow (and I'm not seeing that in the pictures) I would not attempt this. With a low power LED light and small USB fan in the box and an inline fan on the outside of the box, this might work.
Before you start growing, do a 24 hour test with all the equipment running so you can monitor how high the temperature and humidity will get.
Also, if things go well it's going to start smelling real good in that room unless you vent outside or add in a carbon filter.
That is a balanced LED grow light. The white box on the back houses an exhaust fan , I built the box out of a styrofoam box cut the bottom and added a makeshift screen that holds carbon. Another build I got off youtube. If you look at the second to last pic you will see the hole where the exhaust fan is placed. On the side of the box in the first pic is the thermal trigger for the exhaust fan whose probe you can see in the second to last pic. The box itself is came double layered so that is the reason why I used it, it's very thick. It has been up and running for 4 days now.
I hear ya about growing on a budget, I started in the garage with one cheap tent and light then add equipment as I gained more experience. As we speak I am drying 3-4 oz of Kush in a cardboard dry box hooked up to an inline fan.
Stoner engenuity for sure looks good but I agree tents are cheap and cardboard isn't going to hold up in moisture but you sure make it look good my friend happy growing
I guess it could work but I would be concerned with possible fire hazard and the structural integrity considering cardboard and moisture don't mix. You should honestly invest in a tent though since nowadays you can find them pretty cheap. I found a 3.5x3.5x6.5 tent on amazon for $50 about a month ago. Very creative though lol
If it’s past the 5th node then yes…as long as she’s healthy 🌱🪴🤙🏻
Can anyone tell me if my plant is ready to be topped?
I agree with what has been said. Also, this is freaking awesome!! I have used soooo many hacks over the years. Keep it up.
Be carefull with inexpensive ph meters... Mine was off by 1.5 points and caused setbacks and headaches !

Here's an update.
