Ten days into flower and the second of three plants in the tent are showing pollen sack development. It’s history. Removing the plant from the pot showed tremendous root development, so I got that part right.
The third plant looks different, but no pistils yet. My question is, if I do get both sex organs on this plant and let it go to seed…will the pollen contaminate the tent for future grows? I do have another potted plant outside…the runt…that is still in veg. I could just dump the last tent plant and move the runt back inside to veg more. Advice?
Both sex organs as in a hermaphrodite right? Or are you talking about letting the female over-ripen and produce nanners to self-pollinate?
I have three outside plants in the garden from the same seeds that are doing well…huge fan leaves…in September they should naturally flower.
Bad idea bringing a plant from outside into the grow room
Hi, hopefully you last one will be 100% female, fingers crossed.
If she does produce pollen, then it will contaminate the tent. No big deal, just make sure to clean the tent and the equipment (including power cords, fans etc) inside thoroughly with a disinfectant or something with bleach. That is something you should do between grows if possible anyway, my tent is overdue for a good cleaning.
About bringing the runt back inside, that is usually considered a very bad idea. You would be bringing the outdoors into your grow tent. You can do it, but afterwards you will want to nuke your grow room from orbit to make sure you kill anything that moved in. You thought aliens were hard to kill, try spider mites! :o)
Good luck and fingers crossed for a female!
