I have the SF 2000 grow light kit and the seedlings are at about 10 days old and looking pale and not growing much, my question is what height and dimmer setting do you recommend? Ive read varying info from 36''/40 dimmer, 30"/60 dimmer to 16"/100 dimmer, the latter seeming way too high for young seedlings. Im new to indoors and trying to get the correct info before having to buy a PAR meter.

If you tap that link a couple of times the pic should load.
Still can’t seem to load pics but have been able to load a link. I removed the fan leaves did lst and defoliation recently. But still very bushy, just not sure if I should do a major defoliation at 6 weeks old?
Hey Chris, is it ok to remove large fan leaves on a plant about 5 weeks old? the leaves are at about the 3rd and 5th nodes and almost completely shadow the colas below, or do you just let the colas grow out, the colas are a bit too short for lst and still wouldnt make it out to the light beyond the fan leaves. The plants are growing short and stocky (but healthy) should I increase the distance of the light? its at about 22 inches at the moment. Still unable to load photos.
Went to 50% power after flipping to flower last week per Chris’s advice ….no curling issues. Will increase gradually through the eight weeks of flower.
Im not getting curled up leaves if I have the light on strong , they're just pale and growing slowly.
With a 24” 2 bulb fluorescent fixture using aquarium bulbs one can keep the light 6-8 inches from the seedlings minimizing stretch raising the light or lowering the seedlings. It provides all the light they need. Much of any stretch can be corrected when repotting. Solo cup to one gallon to 3-5 gallon. When you go into the one gallon, go into the tent with the LEDs. That’s the method I’m working out with input from this community.
I have been using the same light at 24 inches for veg. It’s a powerful light and I have kept it at 35%. The seeds were germinated under some aquarium bulb fluorescents (a very soft light intensity) and moved to one gallon pots after the third nodes leaves were developed…then into the tent.
If I bump it much more, the leaves curl up and get sick.
Got a nice canopy at 8 weeks and have flipped t flower. I’m going to try to increase to intensity of the light once I sex the plants and hopefully have a female left in the tent. But if the leaves start praying again, is back to 35%.
Hey Chris, at what stage do you recommend using the inline fan in a 2x4 grow tent? My plants are about 4 weeks old and Ive just been opening the vents and running a regular fan.
pics!
How far away are you from your seedlings??
