Hello,
I’m having a little trouble with the Orange Octane strain. This is my second time trying to grow this strain and both times it’s grows fine until the first set of leaves appear and than it just stops doing anything. They been like this for about two days now. I currently have them in ocean forest from fox farms as my soil. They’re in a red solo cup under a Vivosun tripod light currently. This is the end of their first week since they’ve popped up above the dirt. Any tips on what I should do? I’d hate to give up on them but at the same time I don’t want to waste anymore time if there no good. Any help would be greatly appreciate. Happy Growing!!
It could be a fungal disease like Verticillium Wilt. But that usually show up as the stock withering.
I use chamomile as soon as it (the seed) is in soil until it is ready for its big pots. It's an anti fungal & cheap. I just keep a big jug of water with 2 or 3 tea bags in it & toss in another tea bag occasionally.
Just took the bags off to give them some fresh air but this is one part of my set up.
Sometimes the plants spend their energy growing roots at the expense of the top growth.
Hello Chris,
I have them on a heating pad set to 78 plus my tent gets to about 79-83 at the highest at times the RH is 40 for where I have them, but I did put bags over them since I last talked with Jcarson702. In hopes to raise that a little bit, but unfortunately that didn’t seem to help either. This is the second time these orange octane seeds have done this to me. Last time I tried this was back in August and they did the same thing. Came up just fine and than just stalled some wouldn’t even open the round leaves fully. Any thoughts? Are these just BS seeds? I’ve even gave them a light feed of microbes etc. I use fox farm liquid nutrients. I have the complete line. So I gave them the kangaroots boomarang recharge, wholly mackerel and liquid bloom last weekend. These seedlings are going on their third week come Monday and haven’t progressed at all. I have two others seedling one that I planted at/ around the same time and the other is a week ahead of the other 3. The other two I have going are Sweet Black angel and Crazy Miss Hyde and their striving with no problems at all. Anyways sorry for rambling. Big fan watch yours, Pigeons and Rob youtube videos. You’ve helped me a bunch already before this just from your videos and book so just wantEd to say thank you and keep up the hard work we as a community appreciate you.
What is the relative humidity and temperature? Also what is the light distance from the top of the plants?
Heating pad works, yeah Alex the dome is the only thing that I think of when seedling are stall out and seem slow.
I dont if your on a timeline but I really wouldn't worry too much, beans sprout in all kind ways and their own time. For some they can end up a keeper! 🍻
I don’t have a bag or anything on them I can try that. I do have a vivoson heating pad under them at 75 degrees. maybe I’ll bump up the heating pad a couple more degrees.
When I have stalled seedlings I usually check to make sure my temps are higher, I shoot for around 80* and put a clear solo cup on top to help keep RH a little higher as well.
