I agree with Mr. G. I dont use a trellis either but if you do make sure you space your plants where you want them in your tent because once you get them all intertwined in the trellis you cant move them. Thats why I dont use one and just do l.s.t.
You could get away with not topping again and just putting the net up. Then, you can continue to bend the branches down to fill up the net. If you feel at that point you need to top (or even super crop) then you can. Or you could top again before putting up the net but I feel like you don't really need to. Just my opinion.
