Hey All, Im 2 weeks out from the breeders recommended harvest date. Mostly cloudy and I do see a few amber, don't mind a less potent high so im looking for about 15% amber. How is it looking, not sure how fast the amber develops.
Personally I don't pay to much attention to the pistols, wind(fan) and temps can affect their color. Once the tricombs turn cloudy-milky it's your choice when to harvest. I don't usually go past 15-20% ambers if I'm looking more towards the body effect. Cloudy will more hit you in the head. Most pistols will darken during dry/cure anyway. All strains are different and most same name strains are different from different breeders.
This is where I am at whisker wise, I know i have a good amount more time if i was to base it solely off the whiskers. The plant will definitely bulk up over the next couple of weeks. Im gonna ride it out and keep an eye on everything. Im probably off a good amount on that amber percentage but just wanna make sure i don't make the rookie mistake of harvesting too early. Might be a harvest right about where the breeder recommended unless i see substantial amber development.
I’d monitor the whiskers on the bud sites too for a soft market on how amber TC Development is progressing.
in my experience they pop one or two more amber percent every 12 hours so it can sneak up on you if you don’t monitor. if your looking for a CBD thing with that amber percent, I’d grow a strain that has that characteristic in the future and just harvest at this stage (next time) so you don’t risk over cooking.
