It's been done. If you have a plant you don't want to scrog and you want/have the space to grow it like a bush out a 70's porno.
Four florecent LEDs or T-5's?/! . . (I don't know florececnt lights). If you use them they can be inches away and not burn, I don't know what your ideal distance is.
If you keep a clean understory then this would only serve to make more work pruning.

Any idea how much PAR is hitting the plants? Too much can result in light burn.
