I recently read Mr. Grow It's book that I bought on Amazon, and just got done setting up my first grow tent. I plan on doing autos for my first grow in a 4x4 grow tent. I plan on using the paper towel method and then planting in to a 5-gallon fabric pot of FFOF soil. I wasn't sure when I would start getting a reliable PPM reading according to the cheat sheets in the book. It does mention I do not need to feed for the first 30-40 days since the soil contains all nutrients needed but I wasn't sure when I could actually start measuring the PPM accurately.
So, my question is when do I start using the cheat sheet for measuring PPM using FFOF soil for an auto grow in 5 gallon fabric pots? Thanks!
I'm doing about the same set up and soil combo , I have another question along the same line, when should I put some molasses into the water and how often should I do it??
I agree with @mwhite9829 , I'd start checking around days 20-25. Keep in mind that organic nutrients need time to break down so if you see a high PPM at first, that is ok. More info: https://www.mrgrowit.com/post/2020/01/27/avoid-these-mistakes-when-growing-cannabis-in-soil
FFOF is packed with goodies for the plant, but id suggest adding cal-mag a couple times. The time when to start feeding isnt concrete, plant and root growth dictates that. Being autos and the rapid root growth on those I'd probably start checking 20-25 days.
