2x Jack Herer
1x Northern Lights
Sunshine Mix 4
T5 LED with Agro bloom
Remo nutrients
4x4x8 tent
Not much to share, but I have made an interesting observation with this light. Every plant I put in the back right corner starts with these large long leaves and maintains an odd lean to the left all through its life. This Jack Herer is doing the same. I would love to get a Par reading at some point before upgrading my light in the near future. Anyway, day 13 from germination is underway.
Ended up with 121g this round. 90 percent of which are going to bubble hash and then pressing into rosin. Trimmed and saved some of the larger bud and is curing. Hang dried for 10 days at 55-63 RH at 21 to 24 degrees Celsius. Tested the JH and it's decent. Now to look for a light for my 2x2.
They look great! Nice job as always Dale
Gorgeous and so frosty! Well done
About to shut the lights down for 48 hours and harvesting Monday morning. There was so much growth during the flush period and the trichomes are just about perfect.
Coming down in a few days. Probably one or maybe two more watering 🔥
Just hit week 7 and the girls are really filling out. I've ignored their sensitivity to light and am just pushing them to the finish line. The leaves aren't liking it but the flower has no complaints. The trichomes are getting very thick. The NL will be done earlier so I'll have to set up my 2x2 in this tent to get her drying and I may run the JH a week or so longer, but the NL still has another 6-8 days left. The colas on the NL are almost beer can size so I'm happy to see her producing after so many constant issues.
Looking good. Autos ? Very nice picture. With a camera or phone?
Checked the Jack Herer twins and they started their leach/flush. They've produced a fair amount this last week.
Starting my 2 week leach tonight. On the home stretch with this Northern Lights.
Day 35 on the NL and 33 on the JH x2. The frost is really starting to hit that NL. She should really fill out in the next week. Hoping to see a little more progress on the JH but they are doing well.
This Northern Lights is ridiculous. She now seems to have a magnesium deficiency. Every time I fix one issue another pops up. One hell of a learning experience but holy shit lol. I noticed some minor discoloration last night when I fed at day 33. Had a look this morning and no changes. Came home tonight and she's advanced significantly. I'll feed a cal mag tonight and see if she improves.
Edit: the tear in the one attached discolored leaf is from training mishaps
Winter is coming.
Day 28. Chopped 1 Jack Herer because she didn't want to flip and the others are well on their way. I need the tent for drying so she had to go. Thank you Brandon for reminding me to super crop. Laid the Northern Lights down a little last night. I can't believe how finicky she is! Everything is getting sticky and filling out a little better than I expected, especially with that NL. Hopefully she can hang on until the end. The iron deficiency seems to have cleared up completely. Maintaining a 45 RH and 26-27c with PH sitting between 6.2-6.4.
sounds like a lot of planning but like fun. I love growing should have been doing this for years. So far its looking good i cant wait to get my 2nd grow started i wont be so scared this time. Have a good christmas.
Early update since it's Christmas and I plan on being too inebriated to play with my plants.
Day 21 of flower. Did some final defoliation and cleaned up some lower branches that didn't make it to the scrog. For such a tiny veg window and growth, they sure are chunking up, with the exception of 1 Jack Herer. She does not want to flip completely. I'm debating giving her the chop to save on nutes. I am also drying in the tent. Or do I grow her and get some frost to harvest for hash or butter. I'll be thinking on that for the next couple of days. Lowered the second scrog and they are starting to grow into it. The canopy won't be as even as I'd like, but it's my first attempt at this type of training. I'm seeing a bit of a deficiency on the NL but I'm going to monitor for tomorrow's feeding and evaluate what she needs. She's turning into a beast which has really surprised me. She's definitely a fickle mistress and a little harder to keep happy. Into some trellis adjustments here and there and just basic maintenance.
Flower day 14/15. The Northern Lights in the back left had a flush. She's still recovering but she is starting to get some golf balls going on. Haven't done much else other than leaf tucking here and there and adjusting the base scrog. Another week or so and I'll get a final defoliation done. Still monitoring the NL with that Iron deficiency. She seems to have perked up quite a bit so just waiting for the soil to dry. The second scrog may not be needed but I'll see what these buds end up doing. Been feeding every 2 to 3 days with no water breaks in between. PH sitting at 6.0 in and 6.4 out. These genetics have been a lot of work for such small plants. RH between 40 to 45 and temp 25 to 27 Celsius.
Day 8 of flower. Feeding every 2-3 days. Minor Nute burn on 1 but the rest seem to be loving it. The strange NL is bulking out a little. Keeping the light about 30" away seems to be the sweet spot transitioning into flower.
So I've been enjoying challenging myself while getting into this. I decided to find genetics that aren't popular and look difficult to produce anything with. I went with Niagara Seedbank in Niagra Falls Ontario https://niagaraseedbank.com/ I grabbed 5 Auto Northern Lights and 5 Auto Jack Herer. They did absolutely nothing in veg. I was monitoring them pretty heavily and couldn't produce much at all. 4 weeks of veg for about 1 foot or less, and now they are flowering and having some odd growth patterns. Especially the 1 Northern Lights. Looking at it, you would think I defoliated too much. Truth is, I only defoliated the very small bottom leaves. I didn't touch much of anything else. She has barely grown any leaves. Just straight stem and stalk. I modified my scrog idea and just did a quick one at the starting flower level and a second further up that I can adjust as needed. I laid the Northern Lights right down in hopes the flowers will grow thick upwards. We shall see. Each of the 3 JH are growing completely different from each other. 1 has a weird light sensitivity issue. She's temperamental. The other 2 are bushing out and just look strange. This is turning out to be another fun experiment and I'm curious as to what I can yield off these genetics. I'm currently feeding every 2 days in 5g pots. The pot size may be the issue. I'm going to try 3g in this tent next time from advice from a really great grower here in BC. I'm also adding Rock Hard, Sticky Icky and HD Bloom from Fearless Gardener Brand. My buddy from the hydro store gave me some samples to try. They claim to improve tight bud structure and trichome production. I'm using this on top of the Remo Nutrients regiment. The small plants are taking full feedings so I'm waiting to see them explode or show toxicity. Temp is ranging between 26 and 27 degrees Celsius with a RH of 50-55 Veg and 40-45 flower. 20/4 lighting which I switched to from 24/0 in early veg when they showed signs of light stress. I found my sweet spot on light distance with this panel at 28". Week 1 of flower and we're off to the races!
.
Strange genetics on this grow. They really don't want to stretch and they are light sensitive. Struggling with distance but they're filling out a little. Going into week 4 of veg shortly believe it or not. I'll start LST within the week. Did some topping and the trellis is ready for use.
Ah a new grow begins! How exciting. Looks good so far Dale. 🌳
