This is a gooseneck bedside reading light normally but on its highest setting it is pretty god damned bright. But, is it bright enough to grow seedlings until they are too big for the humidity box and be transplanted into a pot and placed in the grow tent?
Any help/advice would be most appreciated.
How big is big enough? I think they would grow toward the light, but I don't think it's enough to keep them from getting leggy. I don't think you should go anything under a nice 4k CFL just sittin right on top of em'. A lot of ppl don't look into lighting and know that light diffuses REALLY quickly! On lesser lights you can lose all your useful photons within inches of distance. Your reflectors and shades for you lights and walls matter a bunch too.
I have one of the lights of that which you speak . . . that's why I am confident it would be too weak.
You can certainly try it and let us know . . Failures are often worth much more than sucsess.
Can you post a link to the light so we can take a look at its specs?
If this helps I bought t5 lights from Amazon. I think it was $50 for the light and the stand to move the light up as the seedlings grow. out of 25 plants I’ve only had 2 seeds not pop. Which was probably my fault from putting them too deep in the soil.
Thanks, I think I'll give it a miss. I have my prop box under an led quantum board (at least I think that's what you call them - it's a knock off sf1000 essentially) at the moment, but it is hanging miles away. Considering this dissipating light you mention should I move it close/closer?
